What does the marketing assistant internship program involve?

 

Learning and Development Objectives:

During the internship, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop essential skills that are fundamental to a successful career in marketing within the retail and consumer product industries. The key learning and development areas include:

Market research and analysis:

  • Understand how the business uses market research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities.
  • Analyse data to draw meaningful insights and support marketing strategies.

Digital marketing:

  • Assist in creating and managing digital marketing campaigns across social media platforms, email marketing, and online advertising.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of digital marketing efforts, including website traffic and engagement metrics.

Content creation and management :

  • Contribute to the development of engaging and creative marketing content for various channels, including social media, blogs, and product descriptions.
  • Learn to optimize content for search engines (SEO) to enhance online visibility.

Customer engagement and relationship management:

  • Assist in organizing events, promotions, and loyalty programs to engage customers and enhance brand loyalty.
  • Contribute to customer relationship management (CRM) efforts, including email communications and feedback analysis.

Sales Report:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop sales support materials, such as presentations, product catalogues, and promotional materials.
  • Gain insight into the synergy between marketing efforts and sales performance.

Data analytics and reporting:

  • Utilise analytics tools to track marketing performance metrics and generate reports.
  • Learn to interpret data and recommend data-driven marketing strategies.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

You can expect the marketing assistant intern to undertake a range of tasks that will not only enhance their skills but also contribute meaningfully to your marketing initiatives. These tasks may include:

 

  • Assisting in the development and execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Creating and curating content for social media posts, blog articles, and product descriptions.
  • Assisting with market research surveys and analyzing the collected data.
  • Collaborating with the design team to create visually appealing marketing materials.
  • Participating in brainstorming sessions for creative marketing ideas.
  • Assisting in organizing and coordinating marketing events and promotions.
  • Engaging with customers on social media platforms and responding to inquiries.
  • Compiling and analyzing marketing performance data to prepare reports for the marketing team.

How do I enrol onto the program?

First you select whether you wish to do the standard or premium program and pay the appropriate preparation fee.  Whilst you are undertaking the preparation stage with our careers team, our placement team will be busy finding the 'best fit' internship for you.

Once you are interview ready, we will organise interviews with prospective intern partners.  When you have been offered and accepted an internship, you pay placement fee, and your 12-week internship will start.

Internship:

  • 12 week internship in a retail marketing department
  • Insurance (public liability & personal accident)

We will keep in regular contact with you, so you never feel alone, including:

  • Monthly feedback sessions
  • Guided internship booklet

Preparation:

We will find the most suitable internship for you from our internship partners, based on our knowledge of you and their company culture including:

  • 12 week internship in a retail marketing department

We will keep in regular contact with you, so you never feel alone, including:

  • Monthly feedback sessions
  • Guided internship booklet

Standard Internship Fees

The standard internship fee is $1,990 and is paid in two parts as indicated below:

Preparation:  $795 (including GST)

Internship Placement:  $1,195 (including GST)

Premium Internship Fees

The premium internship fee is $2,490 and is paid in two parts as indicated below:

Preparation:  $1,295 (including GST)

Internship Placement:  $1,195 (including GST)
