What does the social-media marketing assistant internship program involve?

Learning and Development Objectives:

Interns should have the opportunity to learn and develop essential skills in social media marketing and brand engagement. The key learning and development areas include:

Social media management:

  • Gain expertise in managing social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn, (as appropriate for the brand).
  • Learn to create engaging and shareable content tailored to different platforms and audiences.

Content creation and curation:

  • Develop skills in creating multimedia content, including images, videos, and graphics, for social media posts.
  • Curate user-generated content and understand how it is leveraged to enhance brand credibility and engagement.

Social media advertising:

  • Understand the basics of social media advertising, including ad targeting, budgeting, and campaign optimization.
  • Gain experience in creating and running paid social media campaigns to drive traffic and conversions.

Community engagement :

  • Interact with the online community by responding to comments, messages, and mentions promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in developing strategies to foster a sense of community and brand loyalty among social media followers.

Social media analytics:

  • Utilise social media analytics tools to track engagement metrics, audience demographics, and campaign performance.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, assess the effectiveness of social media strategies, and make data-driven recommendations.

Collaboration and communication:

  • Collaborate effectively with the marketing team, designers, and other stakeholders to align social media efforts with overall marketing initiatives.
  • Enhance communication skills to craft compelling social media captions, posts, and responses.

Tasks and responsibilities: 

The social-media marketing intern will be involved in a variety of tasks designed to enhance their skills and contribute to your online presence.  Your tasks may include:

 

  • Creating and scheduling social media posts across various platforms.
  • Developing engaging multimedia content, including images, videos, and infographics.
  • Monitoring social media channels, responding to comments, messages, and mentions.
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of social media advertising campaigns.
  • Analysing social media data to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Researching industry trends and competitor strategies for social media marketing inspiration.
  • Participating in brainstorming sessions and contributing creative ideas for social media content.
  • Collaborating with influencers and partners for co-branded social media initiatives.

How do I enrol onto the program?

First you select whether you wish to do the standard or premium program and pay the appropriate preparation fee.  Whilst you are undertaking the preparation stage with our careers team, our placement team will be busy finding the 'best fit' internship for you.

Once you are interview ready, we will organise interviews with prospective intern partners.  When you have been offered and accepted an internship, you pay placement fee, and your 12-week internship will start.

Internship:

We will find the most suitable internship for you from our internship partners, based on our knowledge of you and their company culture including:

  • Company introductions
  • 12 week internship in a marketing department or agency
  • Insurance (public liability & personal accident)

We will keep in regular contact with you, so you never feel alone, including:

  • Monthly feedback sessions
  • Guided internship booklet

Preparation:

We will work with you to develop your personal branding including:

We will keep in regular contact with you, so you never feel alone, including:

  • Monthly feedback sessions

Standard Internship Fees

The standard internship fee is $1,990 and is paid in two parts as indicated below:

Preparation:  $795 (including GST)

Internship Placement:  $1,195 (including GST)

Premium Internship Fees

The premium internship fee is $2,490 and is paid in two parts as indicated below:

Preparation:  $1,295 (including GST)

Internship Placement:  $1,195 (including GST)
